St Martin's, Barholm is a medieval church, exhibiting Saxon origins and beautiful Norman arches and arcading, as well as evidence of the Tractarian values espoused by the parish in the 19th century.
The church serves the small parish of Barholm-with-Stowe - around 50 houses, a thriving public house & a well-respected private nursery school set in a conservation area.
Visitors often comment on the special atmosphere of peace and tranquillity within the church - which is also enjoyed by worshipers (from inside and outside the parish) at our service of traditional Evening Prayer on the first Sunday of the month at 6pm and Holy Communion (Common Worship Order One traditional language) once a month at 9am
We welcome those who wish to have a guided tour in large or small groups and why not combine this with a cup of tea and cake.
We have made improvements to the church to ensure that your visit will be as safe and comfortable as possible.
Many too enjoy the quiet, calm and reflective atmosphere that St Martin's provides. It has a distinctive traditional feel and asks to be visited along with others in the group.
St Martin's is one of the seven churches of the Uffington Group of Churches (which covers the seven parishes in the triangle between Stamford, Market Deeping and Bourne, in the South West corner of Lincolnshire). The other parishes are St Margaret, Braceborough; St Thomas of Canterbury, Greatford; St Lawrence, Tallington; St Michael and All Angels, Uffington; St Andrew, West Deeping; St Faith, Wilsthorpe.
All churches of the Uffington group are open from 10am to 4pm - Should you wish to use St Martin's and find it closed for any reason, please contact Fr Aran or Tricia and we will find a way to meet your needs.
The Rector of the Uffington Group, Fr Aran Beesley may be contacted on 07590 055905 or email: [email protected] especially for Baptism enquiries and visiting those who are ill.
